This is a photo of Curtiss Hoover Brown of Mt.Airy,Surry County,N.C..
He celebrated his 84th birthday Saturday August 1st!
I caught this photo of him as he sat in his car Saturday Morning,outside the downtown Cinema Theater, waiting for the blue grass bands to arrive for performances throughout the day!
He is a DIE HARD blue grass fan and he is practically known by everyone in Surry County!
He holds in his hand his trade-mark “chaw tobacco” cup!
He was named after a president and vice president!
The name Hoover comes from President Herbert Hoover and his name Curtiss comes from President Hoover’s Vice- President, Charles Curtis!
